About the Position: Serves as Transportation Assistant for a Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC) Transportation Detachment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) selection of modes of transportation for different types of freight such as rail classifications, motor, tariffs through cargo movement; 2) determining type of cargo, classifying, rating and routing of freight and making cost comparisons; 3) preparing shipment documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
