Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the Site and through your communications with us. It does not apply to third-party websites, including the employer and hiring-platform websites to which the Site links, each of which is governed by its own privacy policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information collected automatically. When you access the Site, the infrastructure that serves it automatically records certain technical information, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of your visit (“Log Data”). We use Log Data solely to operate, maintain and secure the Site and to prevent misuse. We do not use Log Data to identify you or to build a profile of your activity.

2.2 Usage statistics. We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the Site is used as a whole, such as which pages are visited, the website that referred a visit, the visitor's general location (country), and the type of browser, operating system and device. These statistics are collected without cookies, are viewed only in aggregate, and are not used to identify you or to track you across other websites.

2.3 Search information. We process the search terms and filters you select solely to return relevant results. We do not associate search information with any individual or maintain a search history, other than as incidentally contained in Log Data.

2.4 Information you provide. We collect information that you choose to provide to us, namely:

1. Job alert subscriptions: if you subscribe to job alerts, your email address; and
2. Correspondence: if you contact us by email or telephone, the information contained in your communication.

2.5 Information we do not collect. The Site does not require an account. We do not request your name, résumé or contact details in order to search or view listings, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

3. How We Use Information

We use information only for the following purposes:

1. to provide, operate, maintain and secure the Site;
2. to understand how the Site is used, in aggregate, and to improve it;
3. to send job alerts to users who have subscribed to them;
4. to respond to enquiries and correspondence;
5. to detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and technical issues; and
6. to comply with applicable legal obligations.

We process information on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site, your consent where you subscribe to job alerts or choose to contact us, and compliance with our legal obligations. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site does not set first-party cookies and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies. The usage statistics described in Section 2.2 are gathered without cookies. Third-party websites that you visit through the Site may use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with their own policies.

5. Third-Party Websites

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including employer career pages, job boards and hiring platforms (“Third-Party Sites”). Certain of these links are referral links, which notify the relevant platform that you were referred by extractgigs and may entitle us to a referral fee or commission if you are hired or engaged through that platform.

When you follow a link to a Third-Party Site, that site may receive information transmitted by your browser, such as your IP address and the referring page. Any information you submit to a Third-Party Site, including a job application, is governed by that site's privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Third-Party Sites and encourage you to review their policies before submitting any information.

6. Disclosure of Information

We disclose information only in the following circumstances:

1. Service providers: to trusted service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as website infrastructure and email delivery, which may use the information only to provide their services to us;
2. Legal requirements: where required by law, regulation, legal process or a lawful governmental request; and
3. Protection of rights: where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of extractgigs, users of the Site or the public, including to prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell personal information.

7. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you reside. Where information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In particular:

1. Log Data is retained for a limited period and then deleted automatically;
2. the email addresses of job alert subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion; and
3. correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address your enquiry.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, and regardless of where you reside, you may request that we:

1. confirm whether we hold personal information about you and provide you with access to it;
2. correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
3. delete your personal information; and
4. restrict or cease our use of your information, including by withdrawing from job alerts at any time.

Requests to exercise these rights may be submitted in writing to contact@extractgigs.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for individuals aged sixteen (16) years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of sixteen. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We implement reasonable administrative and technical measures, including data minimisation and the use of reputable service providers, to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Where we consider a change to be material, we may also provide additional notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any change takes effect constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised Privacy Policy. Your use of the Site is also governed by our Terms of Use.
