SUPERVISORY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST

If applying as an ND-04, you will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Autonomous Systems and Ranges Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. If applying as an ND-05, you will serve as a MANAGER in the Autonomous Systems and Ranges Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Qualifications

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series), an Oceanography Scientist (1360-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. TO QUALIFY FOR THE ND-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist; experience leading personnel and the resourcing and execution of research and development projects, systems development efforts, and technology implementation for Robotic Autonomous Undersea Systems portfolio involving rapid prototyping of new experimental payloads, the integration of new technologies into robotic and automous systems payloads and direct mission based operational support. TO QUALIFY FOR THE ND-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist; supporting projects, conducting system development, research and development and leading small teams related to Robotic Autonomous Undersea Systems portfolio involving rapid prototyping of new experimental payloads, the integration of new technologies into robotic and autonomous systems payloads and direct mission based operational support.
