Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Expert

This contract role asks biochemists and molecular biologists to create and review the science problems used to test how well AI models reason about molecular mechanisms. It suits lab-trained researchers and industry scientists who work through experiments from the data up. The work is for an AI training company that supplies expert evaluation data to major AI labs.

What you'll do

• Design realistic research problems that run from planning an assay to making sense of its results
• Write model answers that lay out the mechanism, pathways and evidence supporting each conclusion
• Score AI responses for correctness on pathways, soundness of experimental logic and handling of uncertainty
• Catch answers that sound convincing but contain biochemical errors

What you'll need

• A graduate degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or a closely allied field
• Two or more years working in molecular life science, in academia or industry
• Hands-on lab depth in methods like cloning, protein work, sequencing or assay design
• Clear written English; a PhD, publications, biotech or pharma experience, or bioinformatics or structural biology knowledge count in your favor

Good to know

• Independent contractor role, fully remote and asynchronous with no set schedule
• Pay ranges from $60 to $120 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly through Stripe
• A commitment of at least 10 hours per week is expected
