Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP Certified)

This contract role asks certified medical laboratory scientists to write and review lab medicine cases that test how well advanced AI models reason. It suits bench scientists with solid clinical experience who can explain their thinking clearly in writing. The work is for a company that produces expert evaluation data for frontier AI labs.

What you'll do

• Build realistic laboratory cases that follow a sample from its arrival at the lab to the final reading of results
• Write model answers that lay out the analytical logic behind each result decision
• Score AI responses for patient safety and analytical correctness
• Catch interpretations that sound plausible but would let an incorrect result go out

What you'll need

• MLS(ASCP) certification or an equivalent such as AMT MT
• At least two years of clinical lab experience
• Strong grounding in one or more of hematology, chemistry, microbiology or blood bank
• Clear written English and the ability to commit 10 or more hours weekly
• Preferred: specialist credentials (SBB, SH or SM), or a background in reference labs, transfusion services, molecular diagnostics, QA, method validation or CAP inspections

• Independent contractor engagement with ongoing project work
• Fully remote and asynchronous with no set schedule; minimum of 10 hours a week, no upper limit
• Pay ranges from $65 to $95 per hour based on experience, with weekly payouts through Stripe
• No screen recording, keystroke tracking or idle timers
