Certified Medical Interpreter

This contract role asks certified medical interpreters to create and review interpretation scenarios that measure how AI models handle clinical language. It suits working interpreters who are comfortable explaining their terminology choices in writing. The work is for an AI data company that supplies expert evaluation material to major AI developers.

What you'll do

• Draft lifelike patient encounters, ranging from intake appointments to consent discussions
• Produce model answers for each scenario and explain the terminology and register choices behind them
• Score AI-generated interpretations on accuracy, completeness and clinical tone in both languages
• Spot output that sounds natural yet alters what the clinician or patient meant

What you'll need

• Certification as a CMI or CHI, or a comparable medical interpreting credential
• Two or more years interpreting in clinical environments
• Professional-level medical vocabulary in both of your working languages
• Strong written English for recording the reasoning behind your decisions
• Availability for a minimum of 10 hours each week

• Independent contractor engagement on ongoing projects
• Pay ranges from $55 to $95 per hour based on experience, with weekly payouts through Stripe
• Fully remote and asynchronous, with no set schedule
• Background in oncology, emergency care, remote interpreting or sight translation is a plus
