Senior Python Developer

This contract role combines hands-on Python engineering with AI training work for a major large language model developer, placed through a fast-growing AI company. It suits experienced Python developers who like explaining their technical judgment in writing as much as shipping code.

What you'll do

• Build fine-tuning datasets by writing prompts, ideal responses and matching Python solutions
• Rank pairs of model answers against set criteria and explain your reasoning in detail
• Run evaluations that benchmark model quality, and review peers' code and documentation

What you'll need

• Three or more years of solid Python, with a strong grasp of clean, well-formatted code
• Experience writing unit, integration and property-based tests
• Working knowledge of threading and async code, and the ability to refactor safely within existing architecture
• Sharp debugging skills for memory leaks and concurrency bugs, plus fluent written and spoken English

Good to know

• Fully remote, one-month contract expected to begin the following week; no paid leave or medical cover
• Pick 20, 30 or 40 hours weekly, with a minimum of four hours daily and four hours overlapping Pacific Time
• Hiring takes two interviews: 60 minutes technical, then 15 minutes on culture and the offer
• No model building or training is part of the role
