Security Specialist

The ideal candidate has experience administering physical and personnel security programs, conducting risk assessments and security surveys, and supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations. They communicate effectively with managers, employees, law enforcement, and contractors; apply sound judgment; and can support FEMA's emergency management mission, including deployment when needed.

To qualify for this Security Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Administering physical, personnel, administrative security programs in accordance with Federal security policies and procedures, including maintaining secure facilities; Conducting security assessments, surveys; providing education and awareness activities; recommending or implementing corrective measures to protect personnel, facilities, information, and assets, and; Coordinating with management, employees, contractors, law enforcement, and security partners to resolve security issues.
