RemoteContractOther Engineering

Key skills

  • Data Annotation
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Research

About the job

This contract role involves reviewing recorded footage of robot arms and labeling what the machines do. You use engineering judgment to decide whether each task succeeded. It suits robotics, mechanical or electronics engineers with practical experience who enjoy careful, detail-heavy review work for an AI training company building datasets on robot behavior.

What you'll do

  • Watch recordings of robot arms at work and mark where every action, event and error begins and ends
  • Decide whether each task was completed properly, and label failures such as missed grasps, dropped items, inefficient paths or imprecise placement
  • Draw on your knowledge of motion, sensing and integration to explain why a robot failed
  • Escalate ambiguous clips to project managers and propose fixes where the guidelines fall short

What you'll need

  • A background in robotics, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering or a similar technical discipline
  • Practical experience with robot arms or robotic systems, whether from industrial, research or lab work
  • A strong grasp of motion control, grasping, perception and sensors
  • The patience to apply written rules consistently over long stretches of similar footage
  • Clear written and spoken communication for remote teamwork

Good to know

  • Contractor engagement, fully remote
  • Work comes in assigned volumes with deadlines and quality targets
  • Prior data labeling or video annotation work helps but is optional, and no AI background is needed
