Motor Vehicle Operator

This position is located at the Northern Cheyenne Service Unit, Indian Health Service located in Lame Deer, MT., in the Transportation Office under the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) Department. The purpose of this position is to transport patients to other medical facilities for patient care. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards for WG-5703. No specific length of experience is required. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: A valid State Driver's License is required to operate government-owned or -leased motor vehicles. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Light physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand controls on vehicles operated. When hauling supplies and equipment may be required to lift objects weighing less or more than 50 pounds. When performing custodial duties physical effort is involved in moving and controlling heavy powered equipment, carrying and setting up ladders and scaffolding, etc. Must frequently lift and move objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
