Maintenance Worker (Trails)

You will serve as a Maintenance Worker (Trails). Salary: Orick, CA - $23.26 (Step 01) to $28.81 (Step 5); Crescent City, CA - $22.81 (Step 01) to $26.59 (Step 5); Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. In preparing your application, describe in detail the experience and training which you have had that specifically prepared you for this job and to perform the duties described for this job. Experience should be clearly described and documented in your resume. Examples of experience include: Perform trail construction and maintenance including basic dry stone masonry skills for projects such as water bars, rock steps, retaining walls, etc; basic log carpentry skills to construct and repair trail bridges and foot logs, replace bridge decks, railings, stringers, and fences. Operate hand and power tools to perform trail work such as rock bar, double jack, jackhammer, plugs and feathers, etc. Solve difficult problems and can accomplish a variety of maintenance worker trail assignments independently and safely.
