Maintenance Worker

You will serve as a Maintenance Worker U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2 at San Bernadino and Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Refuge in Douglas, Arizona. You will perform a wide range of construction, repair, and maintenance work on buildings, facilities, vehicles, heavy equipment, and refuge lands while using hand tools, power tools, specialized machinery, and various trade techniques to support daily operations and land management needs.

Qualifications: The screen-out for this position is: experience planning and carrying out maintenance, repair, and construction projects; selecting tools, materials and methods to do the work. Experience at the journeyman level in two or more of the following trades: construction, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry roofing, landscaping, (roads and grounds), heating and cooling systems, or structural repair. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/04/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: ABILITY TO DO TO THE WORK OF THE WORK OF THE POSTION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION (SCREEN OUT) KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ETC.
