Qualifications

Basic Requirement: All applicants must possess a law degree (L.L.B. or J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and active membership in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. AND Duties Performed at the GS-12 level: a. Two years of professional legal experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level. b. The second professional law degree (LL.M.) plus 1 year of professional legal experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level Duties Performed at the GS-13 level: The attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of 2 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Duties Performed at the GS-14 level: The attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of 3 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Duties Performed at the GS-15 level: The attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of 4 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
