EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), State Surface Maintenance Management Office. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = Officer, Warrant Officer, and Enlisted members of the Louisiana National Guard.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment; the experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology; a basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment; experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications; knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment; experience using computer and automation system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least One (1) year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level; AND/OR at least Twenty-four (24) months experience, education, or training which provided knowledge and skill in applying commonly used equipment, facility, or service principles and concepts; experience in the use of tools and test equipment; experience which provided knowledge of maintenance programs and techniques; knowledge and skill in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design; experience in the use of tools and test equipment; experience developing, installing, inspecting, or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
