Junior Data Scientist

This contract role involves reviewing and stress-testing how AI models handle data science, statistics and machine learning problems. It suits data scientists and quantitative professionals with some experience at a well-known tech, finance or research employer who are good at spotting methodological mistakes. The work supports a leading AI lab that is improving its models' quantitative skills.

What you'll do

• Review model responses to statistics, ML and quantitative questions and judge whether they hold up
• Write challenging prompts, assemble datasets and prepare model answers the AI can be measured against
• Flag faulty methods, statistical mistakes and shaky numerical reasoning
• Give organised, structured feedback that helps the models get better

What you'll need

• Solid skills in Python, Pandas, statistics, machine learning, experimentation and data modeling
• At least one year at a top tech, finance or research company, with some of that time falling in the last three years
• The ability to explain technical and statistical ideas clearly in writing

Good to know

• Independent contractor engagement, fully remote
• Pay is listed at $150 to $200 per hour
• Candidates living in an English-speaking country are preferred
