RemoteContractCybersecurity

Key skills

  • Cybersecurity
  • C++
  • Research

About the job

Security researchers with hands-on vulnerability experience can apply their skills to AI model training by building deliberately flawed codebases and then fixing them. The role suits someone comfortable with low-level code who wants flexible, self-directed work that fits around other commitments. It is offered through an AI training company that places experts in skill pools, which project teams then select from.

What you'll do

  • Build code repositories seeded with OSS-Fuzz-style security flaws
  • Write patches that correctly resolve each flaw, and verify that they hold
  • Work through assignments independently, without calls or check-ins

What you'll need

  • At least one to two years working in cybersecurity
  • A background in security auditing or vulnerability research
  • A computer science bachelor's degree, or one in a closely related subject
  • Nice to have: experience with fuzzing tools, C or C++ coding skills, and more than two years of security research

Good to know

  • Remote, project-based contract work that is fully asynchronous; you choose your hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Pay is $50 for each accepted task, with bonuses for quality and volume that can reach $180 per repository
