Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Air National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: -- Knowledge of commonly used methods, procedures, regulations, and other guides that relate to training programs within the United States AF, ANG, and SF career field. -- Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. -- Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security training programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security-training program for the installation. -- Skill in defining problem areas and in application of conventional training program management principles and concepts. Factual and thorough knowledge of the responsibilities of logistics plans and support functions that interrelate with the incumbent's assignment. -- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing. -- Knowledge and understanding of AF, National Guard, and gaining command organizational structure, missions, and responsibilities. -- Knowledge of SF reports and analysis of functions of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to participate in the planning and implementation of security training programs in these areas. -- Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch and section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. -- Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting. -- Knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security AF, Federal, and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles, and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security. -- Knowledge of SF procedures and operating methods to perform the full range of SF activities independently to include protection level resources, installation entry control, armed response, and dispatch.
